Good Response to Passport Mela 31-Mar-2017
Visakhapatnam: There was a good response from the local scribes for the passport, driving licence and Pan Card melas organised by the Vizag Journalists’ Forum. President Gantla Sreenu Babu and secretary S Durga Rao disclosed here on Thursday that 345 persons registered their names for the Passport Mela, In all 232 for driving licence and 78 for Pan Card Mela. The said they were in touch with the authorities concerned in completing the work in a phased manner. Applications for the RTC concessional bus passes are also available at the Press Club, they added.
Padayatra for Rail Zone Launched 31-Mar-2017

AP Tourism Kick Starts 30-Mar-2017
Aims to attract tourists from six mega cities. To attract tourists from the metropolitan cities this summer, the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department kick-started ‘Let’s Vizag’ — a massive campaign to promote Vizag as the ideal summer holiday destination. Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Himanshu Shukla announced on Tuesday that the campaign was aimed at tourists from Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and New Delhi. We are doing this campaign for the first time with the focus on Vizag. In the coming seasons we would shift the focus towards other tourist destinations in the State one at a time.
Credai to Soon Launch Home Projects 28-Mar-2017
Visakhapatnam: Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (Credai) is to launch 200 housing projects across the country to contribute to PM Narendra Modi's target of providing houses to all by 2022, said its new chairman K Subba Raju. Addressing the media here on Monday, Subba Raju said the project will be launched by Union urban housing development minister M Venkaiah Naidu in Ahmedabad on April 8.
Patriotic Film Festival Kickstarts 27-Mar-2017
VISAKHAPATNAM: The screening hall was jam-packed with children and their parents who came to watch the recently released flick ‘Ghazi’ at the three-day Patriotic Film Festival that began at VUDA Children’s Arena here on Sunday. As part of the festival, only three cities from the South India have been selected for the screening of patriotic films between March 26 and 29. Apart from Visakhapatnam, Chennai and Cochin have been chosen for the fest. In total nine movies in Hindi and Telugu languages would be screened. For the next two days, four movies on each have been lined up for screening.

This is one of my favourite cities,” said the actor while waving out to the fans who thronged the newly opened store to catch a glimpse of Rana. Dressed in black the actor obliged many fans with selfies as he went around the store after the opening, interacting with the people. Regular visitor Of late, Rana, who played Bhallaladeva character in Baahubali, has been a regular visitor to the city. Last week, he was here for actor Rakul Preet Singh’s gym launch. Meanwhile, as the buzz grew around the release of the next sequel of Baahubali, fans have grown restless to know a bit more about what’s in store for them.

No Water Supply Today 24-Mar-2017
Visakhapatnam: There will be no water supply in some areas of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) on March 24 from 9am to 5pm, an official release said here on Thursday. The shut down is to enable repair works on Friday to the damages in the panel board equipment and electrical motors of the pump house under Raiwada Drinking Water Supply Scheme at Padmanabhapuram. Due to the repair works the GVMC will stop drinking water supply to Vimana Nagar, Kakaninagar, Buchirajupalem, APSEB Colony, Lakshmi Nagar F Block under 67th ward of zone-6, Gopalapatnam, Tailors Colony, Old Gopalapatnam, Venkatapuram of 68th ward, Appalanarasayya Colony, Krishna Nagar, Durga Nagar Colony, Sai Madhava Nagar, Venkatasai Nagar, Banta Colony, Madhavadhara, Murali Nagar, Kancharapalem, Marripalem Vuda Colony, R and B Office, Kapparada of zone-4 and surrounding areas. Similarly, Block 10, Seethammadhara Doctors Colony, MMTC Colony, Bhanu Nagar, HB Colony, Simhadripuram and Seethammadhara North Extension of zone-2 will also not get water.
Exclusive Fish Food Zone in Vizag 23-Mar-2017
VISAKHAPATNAM: The port city will soon have AP's first Fish Food Zone (FFZ) on the lines of those in Chidambaram and Bengaluru. The zone will have 62 shops trading only dry fish, fresh water fish and marine fish as well as a restaurant serving fish delicacies. Freezers will also be provided to the traders. The AP fisheries department with the help of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (Vuda) will build a G+4 building on a 900 square yard area at the existing fishing market adjacent to Dwarakanagar RTC Complex.
Mega Heroes to Focus on VSP Market 22-Mar-2017
Vizag region has become fortress for mega heroes as per as collections are concerned. Recently Allu Arjun's "Sarrainodu", Ram Charan's "Dhruva" and Megastar Chiranjeevi's "Khaidi No 150" have collected huge share from this area. Although all these three films were successful in rest of all areas in AP, revenue that came from Vizag is huge. Hence, mega heroes are now focusing on this market. Recently Ram Charan went to a college event in Vizag and he promised the students that he would conduct pre-release or audio function of Sukumar's movie in this city. Allu Arjun did the same for "Sarrainodu". On the other hand, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Allu Aravind are already planning huge movie studios in this coastal commercial city. They have applied for land from AP government. Chiru even declared that he would eventually settle down near Bheemili.
