Mega Job Fair Tomorrow 22-Sep-2017
Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Academy (APITA), Government of Andhra Pradesh and Information Technology Association of AP (ITAAP) are organizing a mega job fair exclusively for Information Technology and IT Enabled Services Sector at Dr. L. Bullayya College here on Saturday. Multiple companies with over 300 opening positions will be participating in the job fair. The companies that are likely to participate include Amzur, Concentrix, Efftronics, Maple Software, Miracle Software, openlogix, Patra Corp, Pena4 Tech, Nimaisoft, Yalamanchili Software, WNS Global, Venture offshore and ACN Infotech. Mega Job Fair On February 18 15-Feb-2017
A mega job fair is being organised by the AP Electronics and IT Agency (APEITA) autonomous society of the Government of AP in association with Information Technology Association of AP (ITAAP), an association of all IT and ITES companies of AP, in the city on Feb. 18. The objective of the fair to be held at the Indo-German Institute of Advanced Technology (IGIAT) is to recruit over 300 candidates for vacancies in the IT and ITES sector in Visakhapatnam. In all 14 companies operating in the city are expected to participate in the fair and offer 32 types of jobs. The job fair open to graduates in any discipline, would be extended by a day, if necessary, ITAAP president Ravi Eswarapu and secretary K. Sreedhar told the media here on Tuesday.
Over 25000 Students Turn Up for Job 17-Dec-2016
Andhra University wore a festive look on Friday. On one side there was the beginning of the Indian Pharmacy Congress and an International Conference organised by the Department of Marine Living Resources, and on the other side there was the inauguration of a two-day mega job fair organised as part of the ongoing Digital Summit-2016. Over 25,000 young graduates reportedly attended the job fair that was held in the Convocation Hall and in the Engineering College. About 59 companies, which included BPOs, software companies, production houses and services industries pitching up tents, and the activity was at feverish pitch on the campus.
Govt. keen on ITIR in Vizag 30-Jan-2015
The State Government is keen on creating IT Investment Region in Visakhapatnam, Anantapur and Tirupati, Minister for IT Palle Raghunath Reddy has said. Speaking at the inaugural of the first Bootcamp for startup entrepreneurs at the Sunrise Startup Village here on Thursday, the Minister said that the State Government was looking at creating 9 lakh jobs by year 2020. The credit for formulating India’s first startup and innovation policy goes to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said. The State aims to have 5,000 startups by year 2020 and through that create more employment opportunities, IT Advisor to State Government J. Satyanarayana said. A State innovation fund with a corpus of Rs. 100 crore was created to encourage startups, he added. Memorandum of Understaning was signed with six startup ventures on the occasion. Wipro, Tech Mahindra hiring 30-Jan-2015
Wipro, Tech Mahindra to provide 11,400 jobs IT Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy on Thursday said Vizag was poised to become a mega IT hub with the expansion projects of Wipro Limited and Tech Mahindra providing 11,400 jobs in next few years. Wipro’s new project with Special Economic Zone status would provide additional employment for 6,400, Tech Mahindra’s second campus at Rushikonda would create jobs for 5,000. Stating that the government was keen on getting clearance for IT Investment Region (ITIR) from the Centre, he said they were waiting for a date from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to lay the foundation stone for an iconic Signature Tower in 20 acres on Hill No. 3 at Rushikonda in February. He said the tower would have built-up area of 10 million sft.
Tech Mahindra add 30,000 in 2 yrs 24-Dec-2014
Tech Mahindra plans to expand its global seating capacity by another 30,000 in the next two years, taking the total capacity to 1.25 lakh, a top executive of the IT major said. The expansion would mainly focus on three major cities Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Pune and three tier-II cities Visakhapatnam, Jaipur and Bhubaneswar, Tech Mahindra MD & CEO CP Gurnani said. “In the next two years, we are looking at adding almost 30,000 seats globally. Majority of that would be in the six locations, three main centres (Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Pune) and three ancillary centres (Visakhapatnam, Jaipur and Bhubaneswar). About 1,500 people are working in Visakhapatnam currently. We have been allotted new land also (there). Similarly we have added another block in Bhubaneswar which is 600 people,” Gurnani told PTI. Currently, the fifth largest IT Company of the country has a seating capacity of 95,000 globally. He said research and development for innovation has been one of the key focus areas of the company in the last few years, prompting it to spend 2-3 per cent of the revenues for the purpose. Gurnani added that Hyderabad is the largest centre of Tech Mahindra with over 20,000 employees.
