Demo held on segregation, making compost.

NGO Chaitanya Sravanthi on Friday organised an awareness programme on segregation of domestic waste for women at Indira Priyadarshini Stadium. Besides demonstrating the segregation and making compost, two bins each were given to women.

Lok Sabha member K. Haribabu lauded the efforts of Chaitanya Sravanthi in creating well-trained women to contribute for cleanliness and the credit for transforming Chilakapeta through Swachh Bharat would go to its president Shirin Rahman.

Former MLA S.A. Rahman said the goal of separating the waste would be realized only if it was turned into compost.

Ms. Shirin Rahaman said women should not neglect segregating the waste and handing it over to corporation personnel who come to their doorstep.

Similarly, Umang and Riti, Class V students of Timpany School, share how the rocket model they designed aids in forecasting weather. The advantages of geo-stationary satellite were explained by Edwin Bhaskar, a Class IX student of Amar English Medium School. Along with five rocket and three satellite models and a photo exhibition depicting 38 frames put up by Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), SHAR, students from 17 schools presented more than 35 projects at the two-day outreach event organised by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) that began at Dr. L. Bullayya College on Sunday.

About 511 students of Gitam University have been selected at the campus interview conducted by the Tata Consultancy Services on Monday, According to director of training and placement cell of the university Gurumoorthy Gangadharan in a statement here. Principal of the Institute of Technology K. Lakshmi Prasad said companies such as Microsoft, Accenture, and Future First would be conducting campus interviews on the campus shortly.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Six of the 16 top IT companies that participated in the Blockchain Business Conference have committed to opening their branches in Visakhapatnam. Said a senior government official. The government of Andhra Pradesh had received a lot of proposals from SMEs during the Fintech Vizag Valley event. 60 per cent of the participating companies had come for the first time to Vizag. Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai based start-up SME companies are willing to start operations in Vizag. Government is in talks with 19 companies out of which 6 companies have already committed to opening offices in Vizag. The State Government is also in talks with regulatory bodies like RBI and SEBI with regard to policies. National Stock Exchange (NSE) is planning to open a data centre in Andhra Pradesh. We are excited that the companies see an opportunity in Vizag and are willing to invest.

On account of protests by Visakhapatnam petrol dealers, the petrol bunks around town will remain shut on October 13th. All petrol bunks in the Visakhapatnam district will shut down from Thursday midnight to Friday midnight. This information is given out so that you can be fore-warned and prepared. People are queuing up to fill up their vehicle tanks well before the rush sets in. You would want to do the same. So what is the cause of the protest? The lack of transparency in pricing of petrol in the country. The dealers allege that consumers and petrol dealers are being hood winked. The crude oil rates on the international markets are dipping while the prices of petrol etc are rising in the country. A hike of Rs.6 has been noticed in petrol prices over the past 3 months. What they are questioning is the basis for this increase.

Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will be in city on October 17 to lay the foundation stone for the Rs.113 crore flyover bridge at Naval Armament Depot Kotha road Junction leading to the city airport, and the TU 142 aircrat museum at the beach. He will also participate in the Ananda Deepavali programme to be held on the beach road in the evening.
